Your business, no matter how big or small, is a global business!
This trend will not only continue to grow, but it will accelerate.
In case you are still deciding whether to get your business online, I suggest that you don’t delay.
I’m sure you have heard the term, global market enough. You may think, “but my business is local”.
Have you ever wonder what “global market” truly means?
Obviously, it means that you can sell your products and services globally. It means that competitors can sell their products and services from overseas.
Your customers are within reach of your competitors
Even if you never intend to compete internationally, your competitors can literally reach your customers.
No matter what industry you are in, having an online presence will increase your business. You simply get to reach customers from a wider area.
When I help launch one of client’s website in 2008, a significant portion her customers were from outside of Malaysia even though the service was offered locally. It helped we got it onto the first page of Google search results.
Naturally my client was very happy. Up until then, she did not realize the how significant an online presence is until the results proved it. Fast forward a few years, 50% of the customer found her because of the website, the rest are from offline activities.
Some statistics from one of my website
Depending on the type of business and products you sell, you probably will have different potential customers looking at what you offer. For me, a whopping 64% is not from Malaysia!
In 2014, I launched a website that allowed customers to pay for a document download. My first customers were not located physically close to me. Some were from East Malaysia, others I found out were from the United States and elsewhere.
These are people that would not be feasible for me to call, or to meet in person. Yet, they became my customer.
What if your business is local?
People are very mobile today. They change careers, move to another location for work, and for travel. While word of mouth marketing is still important, people rely more and more on the internet to find information, and solution to their problems.
That solution provider could be you whether you provide a service or a product.
How I found my dentist
When I moved to live in a new part of town, I needed to look for a dentist. I found her dental clinic from the internet. My family now go to her exclusively. That is worth hundreds of dollars business for her from me alone.
I imagine others like me, and expatriates living in my area to find her clinic as well. This is an example of a local business with an online presence to get new customers.
So, if you are still thinking of whether to get online or not, then I suggest that you do not delay any more.
